Autumn in Shaker Square.

As the lyrics to the Vernon Drake song "Autumn in New York" suggest, recent lovers blessed the early evening light by saying their vows in a simple setting punctuated by mason jars suspended from shepherd's hooks filled with leonidis roses, dahlias, thistle, anemones, rose hips, scabiosa pods, uhuli ferns, ranunculus, & scabiosa pods.

Ode to a Season.

Queen Anne's lace, fennel, hybrid delphinium, pale yellow sunflowers, branches, & a lone dragonfly rise proudly from a nest-like basket.

Autumn Melange.

Tropicals (beehive ginger & anthurium) & viburnum berry branches combine to good effect in this black, faux bamboo container.

The weekend weather was wedding perfect & we had two. Enjoy this tiny, but colorful detail!

Estival...

Summertime is like a festival as in the French "Estival" & sunflowers are just one glorious expression of the season's bounty. This seasonal arrangement combines zinnias, delphinium, globe amaranth, hypericum berries, circus roses, &, of course, sunflowers.

Short on Tooth, Long on Scale.

The crocodile fern (pictured here) is an unusual (think Audrey II) & attractive plant, which draws its common name from its long, leathery fronds covered with what look like crocodile scales. It is easy-to-grow & requires consistently moist soil & LOVES to be misted now & again.

From Near -

Not far. Just in from local growers: White phlox, gloriosa lilies, branchy sunflowers, green sedum, mountain mint, white dahlias, & the piece de resistance - bergamot. Earl Grey, anyone?

Real? Or is it...

Peach fringed tulips, lavender foliage, curly willow, lavender delphinium, sponge mushrooms, ferns, red hypericum berries, & coleus foliage make up this custom silk arrangement.

Blushing Bride.

Created for a recent wedding, this bouquet of peonies, ranging from white to blush to pink, was set off with touches of camelia foliage & hand-tied with ivory organza ribbon.

A Golden Anniversary.

This 50th Anniversary creation of gloriosa lilies, dahlias, burgundy peonies, acacia foliage, solidago, delphinium, pale blue iris, & peach hypericum in a bamboo container was perfect as the centerpiece for a beautifully set refectory table.

Graceful, Green Gardens.

Created for the Shaker Heights Garden Tour, this selection of gloriosa lilies, delphinium, dusty miller, iris, solidago, sage, & dahlia buds, combine to make this arrangement so 'fair' as Percy Bysshe Shelley might say.

Rhapsody in Blue.

Created to boost someone's spirits, this arrange-ment boasts with wistful acacia foliage, gorgeous blue hydrangea, blue moon spray roses, plum parrot tulips, iris, thrachelium, & grape-colored stock.

A Tisket, a tasket...

White quince, mini daffodil bulbs, hellebores, grape hyacinths, trachel-ium, sponge mush-rooms, & podicarpus make this bamboo basket of Spring!

Design by Color. The instructions: burgundy. The dahlias seen here were just what this arrangement needed. Leucodendron (two different varieties), magnolia branches, river birch twigs, & dahlias spring from this nest-like basket.

Flowers Across the Miles...

Someone in New York thought of someone in Greater Cleveland and this arrangement came to be. Quince branches, chartreuse cymbidiums, bright pink lilies, deep mango-colored roses, hybrid phals, weeping podicarpus, & touches of boronia heather fill a contemporary leaf-lined cube.

Steel Toe.

Arranged in a galvanized boot, this arrangement of campanula, sweet peas, larkspur, snapdragons, lilies, thistle, sweet unique roses, & pear branches speaks of Spring, which finally seems to have sprung!

M go BLUE!

No, just a lovely centerpiece in blue & gold in the customer's silver tureen nestled in a vignette of merchandise. This combination of blue hydrangea, acacia, acacia foliage, thistle, & seeded eucalyptus perfectly complements this display of nature-inspired ornaments, candles, decorative matchboxes, garden statuary, & wall-hangings.
